Domain transfers are free of charge, but for security reasons, some parts of the process are manually reviewed by JUCRA support before any changes are made.
Transferring Your Domain Away from JUCRA Digital
If you want to move your domain name from JUCRA Digital to another company, this is called a domain transfer.
A domain transfer moves the domain registration from JUCRA Digital to another registrar. This does not automatically move your website, email, DNS records, or hosting service.
JUCRA provides an additional level of domain protection for domains registered or managed through our system. This helps reduce the risk of unauthorised transfers, accidental ownership changes, domain hijacking, or loss of control of your domain name.
EPP/Auth code requests, registrar lock changes, domain contact changes, and private nameserver changes are not automatic self-service options inside the client area. These requests are manually reviewed by JUCRA support before any action is taken.

Important Information Before You Start
Before requesting a domain transfer, please read the following points carefully.
- Domain transfers normally take several days to complete once the transfer has been started with the new registrar.
- A domain transfer does not move your website or email. It only moves the domain registration to another registrar.
- If you are moving your website, email, or DNS to another provider, update your nameservers or DNS records before starting the transfer.
- Once a transfer is in progress, some domain changes may not be possible until the transfer has completed.
- Changing domain ownership or registrant contact details may trigger a 60-day transfer lock under ICANN transfer rules.
- An EPP/Auth code is sensitive security information. It allows a domain transfer to be started, so JUCRA will only release it after verifying the request.
If your website or email is moving to another provider, ask the new provider what nameservers or DNS records should be used before requesting the domain transfer.
What You Can Manage in the Client Area
You can still manage the following domain options directly from your JUCRA client area.
- Auto Renew: you can enable or disable automatic renewal if you want the domain to renew normally or expire at the end of the current registration period.
- Nameservers: you can update nameservers if you are moving your website, DNS, or hosting service to another provider.

What JUCRA Support Handles Manually
For security reasons, the following domain actions are handled manually by JUCRA support.
- Registrar Lock: unlocking the domain for transfer.
- EPP/Auth Code: requesting the transfer authorisation code for the domain.
- Contact Information: changing registrant, admin, technical, or billing contact details.
- Private Nameservers: registering, modifying, or deleting private nameserver records.
These actions can affect ownership, transfer control, DNS control, or the ability to move a domain away from JUCRA and possibly your ownership. Manual review helps protect clients from unauthorised or accidental changes.
Steps to Transfer Your Domain Away from JUCRA
To request a domain transfer, please follow these steps.
-
Check your website, email, and DNS first
- If your website or email is moving to another provider, ask the new provider what nameservers or DNS records should be used.
- Make any required nameserver or DNS changes before starting the domain transfer.
- If you are unsure, ask your new provider or someone with technical knowledge of domain transfers, DNS, and email to assist you.
-
Open a support ticket with JUCRA
- Log in to your JUCRA client area and open a support ticket, or email hello@jucra.com from the registered client email address.
- Tell us the domain name you want to transfer.
- Confirm whether any contact details need to be checked or updated before the transfer.
-
JUCRA verifies the request
- Our team will check that the request has come from the registered client account or an authorised contact.
- We may ask for additional confirmation if the request involves ownership, registrant, billing, or contact changes.
-
JUCRA prepares the domain for transfer
- If approved, we will unlock the domain where required.
- We will request or release the EPP/Auth transfer code after the security review is complete.
-
Start the transfer with your new registrar
- Give the EPP/Auth code to the new registrar.
- Follow any approval steps sent by the new registrar or registry.
- Keep an eye on your email in case the transfer requires confirmation.
ICANN Transfer Lock Rules
ICANN transfer rules may prevent a domain from being transferred in certain situations, including recent registration, a recent previous transfer, or certain changes to registrant contact information.
In particular, changing the registrant name, organisation, or email address may result in a 60-day transfer lock.
If your intention is to transfer the domain, please speak to JUCRA support before requesting any ownership or contact changes. Making contact changes at the wrong time may delay the transfer.
For reference, ICANN information about domain transfers can be found here:
ICANN - Transferring Your Domain Name
When You May Not Need to Transfer the Domain
You may not need to transfer your domain if you only want to move your website, email, or DNS service.
A domain can often remain registered with JUCRA while the website, email, or DNS is hosted somewhere else.
For example, you may be able to:
- Keep the domain registered with JUCRA.
- Point the domain to a different website host.
- Use email services from another provider.
- Update DNS records without transferring the domain registration.
If your website or email is staying with JUCRA, transferring the domain may not be necessary.
